HULAUZ

Species Overview

The hulauz are a long-lived humanoid species distinguished by metallic-grey skin, entirely black eyes, naturally black hair, and an unusually broad visual field. Their eyes support strong peripheral awareness, motion detection, and low-light vision. Because their attention can shift across much of their visible field without obvious eye movement, other species may find it surprisingly difficult to tell exactly what a hulauz is watching.

Physically, hulauz are versatile generalists rather than extreme specialists. They are capable walkers, climbers, swimmers, workers, tool users, and tolerate a broad range of ordinary environments, though that adaptability does not translate to immunity or environmental strangers. Their relatively long average lifespan gives hulauz individuals considerable opportunity to accumulate expertise, relationships, injuries, institutional history, and changing roles over time.
