About us: Frank and Lucy

Frank and Lucy, a father and daughter who absolutely love writing, and the writing process. Often joking that they are two halves of the same creative monster, like the Frankenstein monster of Mary Shelley’s book, with Phranqenlu being their affectionate nickname for their father-daughter writing team. They are not a Frankenstein monster, as much as they are a story-producing machine. The joy they find in the creative writing process is an experience they want to share with you! Phranqenlu want to show you how simple it is (which is not the same thing as being easy) to discover a story of your own. Their shared passion of worldbuilding and writing became a world full of stories they can't stop exploring.

Frank and Lucy have been working on worldbuilding and developing characters since 2016. There is no special training or schooling required to come up with a story of your own. No college which can teach imagination. No university that can instill a desire to write. What began as an idea shared late one evening transformed into a world that neither of them wanted to leave. Frank and Lucy know if you have the itch, you probably have the story ready to burst out of you.

Of course, there is a lot of work that goes into writing a story. If it were easy, as they say, everyone would do it. If you can read and write, you can put a story together. It is as simple as your own imagination. But, again, “simple” and “easy” do not mean the same thing. Creating a story is super simple, and with a little discipline and a touch of organization, creating a story can become WRITING a story. And that is where Frank and Lucy come in.

Simple isn't Easy (But it is Worth it!)

They are so excited about the story and the world they get to discover together. Not just because they get to write and create, though that is certainly part of it. And not just because they get to share that story, and the world in which it happens, with you (though that is also a part of it). It is because they have stumbled across a system of creation that anyone and everyone can use. If you ever daydream or carry on conversations with anyone in your head (and it doesn’t matter if the person you are talking to is real or imaginary), you already have the raw material needed to begin story-weaving.

Frank and Lucy Want to Show You!

They are so excited about the story and the world they get to discover together. Not just because they get to write and create, though that is certainly part of it. And not just because they get to share that story, and the world in which it happens, with you (though that is part of it). It is because they have stumbled across a system of creation that anyone and everyone can use. Over the years they've refined a repeatable system, full of tools and methods to help turn your imagination into a written world of your own. If you ever daydream or carry on conversations with anyone in your head (and it doesn’t matter if the person you are talking to is real or imaginary), you already have the raw material needed to learn to write a story.

If you are an avid reader, and you find yourself waiting for the next book in a series to come out, you are in a perfect place to begin considering writing your own story! If you have read a book, or worse yet, a series of books, more than once because you haven’t found another series you like as much as that series, it is time to invest in yourself! Frank and Lucy are not suggesting you invest tons of money. The creative writing process costs very little and can almost always be done with the materials you have on hand.

You Can Write Too!

Paper is cheap. Pens and pencils can be found for next to nothing. And if you have a computer or a phone (or heaven forbid BOTH!), then you are ready to go, and you too can learn how to write a story! There are authors “out there” who have written stories, books, and even helped develop movies, who started with little more than and an idea. But let’s be honest. You know you have everything you need to get started. It is not what you don’t have, but need, that has kept you from writing this whole time. It is what you do have, but need to get rid of, that is your biggest obstacle.  

You have fear, but that can be faced.
You have excuses, but they can be unlearned.
You have other priorities, but they can be re-ordered.
You have distractions and life, but they can be managed.
There are, no doubt, other things which stand in the way of you lowering your defenses and letting the inner writer come to life. Whatever it is, it is time to make the decision to be the author. Let your writing come alive, and change your life!

Frank and Lucy believe real change can come from writing. An author is born by anyone willing to put aside everything that has been holding him or her back and expresses the story within. Let it out, and let the story change you! This page is about Frank and Lucy, but it is dedicated to you, the author-yet-to-be-born! So perhaps the “About Us” page should be called the “Just for You” page.
